Cattani suggests the AC 400 for 4 to 5 dental units. Two motors and twin cylinder heads deliver 320 Nl/min at 5 bar into a 100 litre tank, with 2 air driers.
The AC 400 is rated 73 dB(A). It takes Cattani's noise-reducing plastic cover, about 10 dB(A) quieter, as the AC 400 Q (W 1160 x D 650 x H 890 mm). Cattani's soundproof cabinet is made for the AC 100 to AC 300 only.
Choose by the number of dental units working at once. The AC 300 suits 3 (238 Nl/min, 45 litre tank, 1 air drier) and the AC 400 suits 4 to 5 (320 Nl/min, 100 litre tank, 2 air driers). The AC 400 is much larger at W 1155 x D 550 x H 745 mm and 112 kg, so check the space in your plant room.
Cattani recommends a plant room that patients and untrained staff cannot enter, kept between +5 °C and +35 °C, with a mandatory earth connection, a floor drain and no flammable materials stored nearby. Above 35 °C the air drier works less well and the compressor wears faster. A trained technician should install and test the unit, and Cattani recommends a closed loop of insulated copper pipe to keep the pressure steady and the air clean.
