Overview
Hatch self-sealing sterilization pouches, 3.25" x 11", are a long pouch for longer instruments and handpieces. Made for steam and EO gas sterilization, each pouch has a puncture-resistant, transparent film laminated to durable medical-grade paper, with a self-seal strip: peel, fold at the perforation and press. 200 pouches per box.
Usage and compatibility
- Methods: Designed for steam (vapour) and ethylene oxide (ETO) sterilization systems.
- Chemical indicators: Printed on each pouch, they change colour during sterilization to show the pouch has been processed.
- Validation: Use process indicators together with routine biological indicators (spore tests) to verify sterilization.
- Sterility maintenance: When properly sealed, sterility is maintained for up to two years, provided the pouch stays dry, undamaged and unopened.
Storage and loading
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place between 15 and 30°C (59 to 86°F) at 40 to 70% relative humidity.
- Loading: Stand pouches on edge in a pouch rack if possible, with the plastic side of one pouch facing the paper side of the next. Do not overload the sterilizer.
- After sterilization: Make sure pouches are visibly dry before removing them from the sterilizer.
